January 19th, 2011
On Wednesday, January 19, 2011, we released an update to EDlumina Student Information Management System (SIMS). Below is a summary of the changes.
Completely Redesigned User Interface
In our ongoing effort to provide our customers with the best experience possible, we’re launching a completely new User Interface design for our CRM (Admissions), SIS (Student Management), and LMS (Learning) products.
The new design takes advantage of some of the latest technologies and best practices in the user experience of web applications, as well as feedback from you and our own experience in your shoes.
CRM/SIMS/LMS is now EDlumina
To-date, we’ve referred to each module of our platform by their acronyms: CRM, SIMS, LMS.
Given that our product is truly an integrated offering, we wanted to have a name that reflected that and also conveyed the value we feel the product has for institutions in illuminating metrics and trends about their institution such as the effectiveness of their admissions process or the quality of the educational experience in creating positive student outcomes.
We feel that EDlumina captures that and we’re looking forward to continue to build our product suite in alignment with that vision.

Cyanna Education Services is pleased to announce the launch of the State Board of Career Colleges and Schools for the State of Ohio (scr.ohio.gov) on the EDvera™ platform.
EDvera™ will support all of the Board’s Annual Reporting data collection from licensed career colleges and schools beginning with the 2010 reporting period.
The launch on EDvera represents a huge leap for the state in advancing their data collection and reporting on key enrollment, revenue, and completion metrics for schools. It will enhance their ability to analyze trends both within schools and across market verticals to improve their oversight capabilities and help predict which areas may need more attention.
“The Board of Career Colleges and Schools is very excited about the launch of the EDvera™ platform for the State of Ohio. Automating the process of collecting and processing annual report data from our schools has been a goal of ours for some time, and the EDvera™ solution meets our needs perfectly. Cyanna’s technical expertise and deep knowledge of the postsecondary education industry were invaluable in helping ease the transition to an online process. EDvera’s reporting power and flexibility helps us more efficiently analyze trends both within and across institutions and disciplines in a way we’ve never been able to until now.”
— John Ware, Executive Director, The State of Ohio Board of Career Colleges and Schools
The Cyanna team is excited about the unique opportunity to work with the state regulatory agencies and provide solutions to help them more efficiently execute their mandate and improve the quality of education for students.
The launch is the culmination of the initial phase of a broader effort underway between Cyanna and the State of Ohio Board of Career Colleges and Schools. Future phases of the project include enhanced reporting capabilities, as well as features to facilitate online licensing application and renewal process.
“The EDvera™ platform is unlike anything in the market in terms of it’s capacity to accommodate the varied data collection requirements of each state, collect it in a simple and easy-to-use online experience, and provide the kind of longitudinal analysis that states need to really see the deeper trends that emerge. All of this works together to improve student outcomes for the schools they license.”
